The 3M™ 5925 VHB™ – unsurpassed on powder coatings

Of course, the range of VHB adhesive tapes includes several variants for different special applications. In this article, however, we would like to take a closer look at the 5925 tape – a tape that impresses above all with its extremely good adhesion to low-energy surfaces such as powder coatings. Furthermore, with its thickness of just 0.6mm, it is perfectly suited to create almost invisible, extremely narrow connections.

A black adhesive made of modified acrylate is responsible for the enormous adhesive performance of the VHB™ tape. The unmistakable red 3M™ film liner is applied to the tape so that it can be bonded easily and quickly despite its extremely high adhesive strength. This also protects the tape as long as it is not in use, making storage as easy as that of any conventional tape.

The following is applied 3M™ 5925 VHB™ for example, in various logos and signs on buildings, in the bonding of electronic displays, the attachment of lens windows to camera housings, and in the bonding of panels to frames or the bonding of trim, stiffeners or add-on parts, where the adhesive tape has also frequently replaced rivets, welding or screws.
