uvex 1 G2 – Innovation at all levels

Since its introduction, the uvex 1 series has been characterized by the most advanced details in the areas of comfort, as well as safety. However, with the presentation of the uvex 1 G2 – i.e. the second generation of the flagship shoe – the safety specialist from Fürth is once again taking a big leap forward.

This expertise can be seen in small details, such as the individually adjustable, elastic laces with quick-release locks, but also in major innovations such as the novel technology of the sole called uvex i-PUREnrj. This not only offers the best cushioning properties in the forefoot and heel, but also features outstandingly good return of impact energy over the entire midsole and optimum stability thanks to a foamed heel basket.

Of course, the uvex 1 G2 planet is also equipped with the x-tended grip TPU outsole. Here, the latest biomechanical findings were implemented to make the sole particularly durable and very slip-resistant. In addition, the profile, which was developed specifically for use on industrial floors.

The topic of comfort is also literally covered on all sides at uvex. For example, the inner lining is breathable and made of 18% bamboo and 52% recycled polyester to ensure ideal climate management. Even the safety measures of the anti-puncture sole and the toe cap, which are important for an S1P shoe, are made of special plastics and offer the best possible flexibility and a low weight. The uvex 1 G2 planet package is rounded off by a newly developed, wider last and a virtually seamless upper construction made of textile material, which is largely responsible for preventing pressure points.

The more sustainable safety shoe!

What gives the uvex 1 G2 planet its planet addition, however, is the sustainable thought that went into the construction of the shoe. Depending on the component of the shoe, the best possible use was made of recyclable materials. For example, the outsole consists of 10% recycled PU waste from our own production. The inner lining, as already mentioned, is made of half recycled polyester and the uvex x-dry knit planet textile material used on the outside is even made of 100% recycled PET bottles.

Last but not least are the footbed, which is also made from 100% recycled PET bottles and foam made from recycled PU production waste and recycled PU, and the PU overcap at the toe of the shoe, which is also made from 40% recycled material.
