Insulate individually and easily with Coroplast insulating tape 302
The history of electrical insulation goes back as far as the history of electricity itself. In the early days, for example, a fabric tape was used, which at that time was still made of gutta-percha, rosin and wood tar. However, quite a bit of time has passed since the 1890s and insulating tape has evolved significantly.
However, the further development took place, appropriately enough, through a company that came into being at a similar time: we are talking about the company of the founding family Carl Müller, which also started its first ventures in Wuppertal at the end of the 19th century. However, it took more than three decades until the company Fritz Müller Elektroisoliermaterial was founded, which – as the name already reveals – is dedicated to the distribution of various electrical insulation materials.
As a result, Coroplast can now look back on over 70 years of experience in the field of insulating tapes. Which also leads us to the product we’d like to introduce in more detail in this post – the Coroplast Insulating Tape 302. This tape is a self-adhesive soft PVC tape certified to DIN EN 60454-3-1 F-PVC / 105 / A-Tx type 10, making it ideal for insulation work, repairing damaged insulation, wrapping cable ends and branches, stripping anchors and coils, and marking.
Based on this early expertise, company founder and namesake Fritz Müller recognizes the excellent electrical insulation properties of PVC. But it was to take until after the war and the passing of Fritz Müller for the company to produce its first adhesive tapes under the new management of chemist and business economist Dr. Richard Röhm under the name Coroplast.
The product can be produced on request in widths of 9, 12, 15, 19, 25, 30, 38 and 50mm, as well as in many different colors, including the green-yellow commonly used in electrical engineering. In addition to the important properties in electrical engineering, the insulating tape 302 has very good chemical resistance and is also flame retardant, resistant to aging and, thanks to its high flexibility, it wraps itself around all irregularities without wrinkles.
